  • Overview

    Business Development Manager (BDM),  is responsible for:   Implementing sales and distribution strategies to meet financial goals of the region. Represent Funjet Vacations, United Vacations, SouthWest Vacations, and Blue Sky Tours in key origin markets. Maintaining and/or developing business from existing and new opportunity agency accounts.  Ensure strong, committed agency relationships and mutually beneficial partnerships to increase product sales and profitability.  Driving share shift from the competition and guiding top line travel agency growth, through the use of key marketing and sales tools. Support a defined territory while assisting in other markets when/as needed. Align with the Group department to follow up on and assist in closing agency leads. Create and deliver ongoing agency education and training. Increase agent profitability based on directional selling in line with TMTC strategy. Develop strategic alliances with travel agents and agencies. Be responsive to agent needs, issue resolution and good follow up. Achieve sales targets by managing territory effectively and growing the accounts with the biggest opportunities. Use reporting tools to understand profitability, trends and goal tracking. Increase and promote distribution through VAX booking platform in line with established goals. Maintain engagement plans for all top tier accounts.

    Additional essential functions and responsibilities:

      • Achieve prescribed territory sales/passenger goals
      • Maintain relationships with Top Level agency accounts to retain revenue and passenger volume across brands
      • Focus on Mid-Level agency accounts to maximize growth opportunity
      • Identify and Engage new agency Opportunity Accounts, securing share shift revenue and investment commitment by brand
      • Align with Business Development Specialist (BDS) team on the transference of viable Long Tail and/or Host Agent accounts
      • Work with RBDMs to support select, unique accounts aligned with TMTC vision
      • Ensure TMTC agency compensation (to include marketing funding) agreements are competitive, and jointly written business plans are relevant with aligned expectations
      • Be accountable for right fit Sales Agreements to be discussed, signed and returned according to established time lines
      • Align with Analytics Team to determine profitability and opportunity by account and territory
      • Use reporting tools to understand profitability, trends and goal tracking

     

    • Align with Brand pricing, product and engagement representatives to ensure up to date multi brand focus               
    • Use reporting tools to generate reports and/or score cards for all account meetings
    • Determine agency onboarding and development requirements – including Implementation Team option
    • Provide ongoing agency education and training (webinars, in-house training etc), provide marketing tools to agents, product differentiation, and value proposition of booking brand.
    • Be responsive to agent needs, direct agents to correct department for issue resolution, and ensure good follow up
    • Increase and promote distribution through VAX booking platform in line with established goals
    • Represent TMTC at events in the US and International destinations
    • Monitor competitive activities in the marketplace and provide feedback in weekly reporting and in meetings.
    • Employ Strategic Coach tools as foundation of Business Methodology
    • Comply with TMTC expense reporting policies

     

     

    Qualifications

    Location: Atlanta, GA

    • Being able to travel up to 70% of the time is crucial for this job   Travel by plane and car is required depending on the location of client opportunity.   Travel includes, but is not limited to, attending meetings, trade shows, FAM trips, supplier functions, company meetings, training functions both in destination and in the territory.   
    • Customer Service – Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction
    • Marketing – Knowledge of principles and methods for showing or promoting products and services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics
    • Sales – Knowledge of principles and methods for selling products and services including sales techniques and sales control systems
    • Business Analysis – understanding report data and its interpretation
    • Negotiation – Bringing others together and trying to reconcile differences
    • Persuasion – Persuading others to change their minds or behavior
    • Judgment and Decision-Making – Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one
    • Learning from Past Experience – Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making
    • Education and/or Experience 
    • Bachelor's degree (BA) from four-year college or university; or three or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Travel industry knowledge or experience preferred, but will consider other candidates will transferable sales background             
    • Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
