    Apple Leisure Group (ALG) is a vertically integrated private equity portfolio company in the travel and hospitality space, focused on packaged travel and resort/brand management in Mexico and the Caribbean. ALG currently operates 7 subsidiaries, including a resort and brand management company, 2 tour operators, an online travel agency and a loyalty program.

    We are looking for a passionate, results driven individual to lead marketing and ecommerce strategy for Southwest Vacations.  The Director, Southwest Vacations Marketing will lead a hybrid team accountable for driving sustainable and profitable consumer growth. You will bring creative energy, challenge established thinking, and discover new and innovative ways to grow our performance.

    Responsibilities

    • Oversee all Southwest Vacations marketing activities for both B2C and B2B channels with a strong focus on B2C
    • Develop overall brand marketing strategy including media plan, content, email, corporate communications, and creative while aligning to brand strategy and guidelines of Southwest Airlines
    • Own the marketing relationship with Southwest Airlines and work to develop and grow cross brand alignment
    • Own Southwest Vacations marketing budget across all channels and hold shared performance marketing team accountable to brand vision, strategy, and performance
    • Own sales initiative and merchandising strategy and provides cross department leadership to ensure execution
    • Responsible for driving performance of B2C channel by turning data into actionable, profitable results
    • Own the long-term vision for southwestvacations.com while partnering with internal teams on technology enhancements and roadmap
    • Lead, mentor, and inspire a passionate, results-driven team
    • Align with Managing Director to ensure strategy fits into brand objectives
    • Partner with Performance Marketing VP to coordinate brand and performance marketing efforts   
    • Work with Southwest to uncover new opportunities to leverage Southwest channels to promote Southwest Vacations
    • Provide thought leadership for digital marketing initiatives, leveraging industry best practices, benchmarking, trends, and competitive intelligence

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree from 4-year college or university, Master’s Degree in Business Administration or a related field of study is desired.
    • 5-10 years related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • 7-10 years of experience in high performance, customer-centric companies, with emphasis on digital marketing, merchandising, user experience management, and team leadership
    • Extensive experience in both performance marketing and brand marketing and a history of successfully driving B2C ecommerce revenue and profitability growth
    • Proven ability to lead, manage and hold others accountable across all departments and levels of the organization.  You ask questions and challenge people.
    • Data-driven and have experience using marketing analytics to evaluate campaigns
    • Sense of urgency and are results-oriented
    • Experience managing and leveraging customer loyalty programs
    • Enjoy motivating, developing, and directing people as they work, identifying the best people for the job.
    • Travel industry passion, knowledge or experience
