  • Overview

    This position supports the organizations accounting compliance objectives by documenting the company’s control environment and testing Sarbanes Oxley compliance for operating effectiveness. Included in this role is technical accounting compliance and assisting with other strategic initiatives within the Company and Department. This position supports the Compliance Team and will be involved in special accounting projects as needed. This role offers significant exposure to multiple areas of the business as well as exposure to all levels of Senior Management.

    Responsibilities

    • Assist Compliance Team with annual updates to ALG internal controls over financial reporting
    • Understand and evaluate processes and related controls
    • Execute tests of controls for operational effectiveness
    • Analyze and implement recommendations for improving control environment and resolve audit related issues related to technical accounting issues or internal control failures
    • Assist with research on complex accounting matters such as Revenue Recognition, Business Combinations, and Lease Accounting (ASC 842).
    • Perform special accounting analysis and projects, as requested, including drafting the related technical accounting memos
    • Perform other related duties as assigned

     

     

     

     

     

    Qualifications

     

    Undergraduate degree in accounting or equivalent and CPA required

    2-5 years minimum combined public accounting and private industry experience

    Experience with accelerated filers as clients or industry experience in an accelerated-filer public company

    Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills with the ability to interact and team with other management members of the finance team

    Detail oriented with excellent analytical skills

    Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines

    Knowledge and experience with SEC filings a plus

    Knowledge of IPO readiness a plus

    Accounting or audit experience in hospitality or consumer product industries is a plus

    Fluent in Spanish language is a plus
